Funfetti for All!

Last year we had a “gigantic” (his words) party for my son when he turned 5, so this year it was just a mellow fiesta with family.

My son insisted on helping make his Funfetti cake (with Rainbow Chip frosting…our family favorite!), but I suspect it was just so he could get first dibs on licking the bowl!

You can almost see him thinking: “Oh yeah, everyone. I know this stuff is gooood!”

Here he is, striking an oh-so-fierce pose. (“Arrr…mitts off me presents, mateys! Bring on the booty!”)

This picture cracked me up, not because of all the stash on the table (thank you Dollar Tree!), but because of the look on my daughter’s face…..

Is she bummin’ ’cause she has to wait until July for her own birthday? Ah ha, wait a minute, I see what’s going on here!…

She’s just working on a plan to get ahold of some of the Bazooka gum!!

In the end, my son walked away with a stash of “boy” stuff – Spiderman, pirate, and Incredibles odds and ends – some candy, and a sweet new collectible Pokemon tin (and new cards, of course) and some Transformers. He also got some money in the mail from Grammie and Papa C, which made him dance around (check in hand) saying “It’s all mine!!” I have a feeling we’ll be stretching this birthday out for a few more days at least (good thing the labor wasn’t that long!!!).
