Blogging in Bed, Because I Can

I let loose my all-too-ready summer rant with a dear friend of mine the other day, and it sounded a little something like this:

Blahblahblah NO TIME TO MYSELF blahblahblah KIDS ALWAYS AROUND blahblahblah AND I CAN NEVER GET ANY COMPUTER TIME!

I suppose knowing she couldn’t do much about the kids (craigslist and ebay have their standards, after all), she did the next best thing.  She is lending me a fabulous laptop!

I am so tickled!  I’ve never had a laptop!

Armed with special perks like a wireless card and a DVD player, my opportunities for escape now seem endless!  I can surf the web while sitting on the couch, keeping an eye on the baby.  I can hide upstairs in my room and catch up on old TV shows or watch a movie while my children argue over the Wii or the computer or whose pocket lint is cooler.

“Time to myself” can now be redefined as “time I can use this awesome piece of technology to book a pretend trip to Fiji.”

Oh, my friend is Heaven Sent (and not just ’cause she’s got the hook-up on gadgets!).  She just made this Momma a little free-er and lots happier!  THANK YOU!!
