Notes Pre Hurricane

At 9:49pm CDT…

husband is on the phone with the 800th person to call us today.  seriously, thanks for all the concern for our family and the birthday wishes for me.  we will continue to answer the phone all night long, but my ear is getting a little talked off by now ;)

i am on the computer, enjoying internet service and power before one or the other or both go out

one last load of laundry is in the dryer

all but one of our bathtubs is filled with water

the dishes are done

the cupboards are full

the flashlights are gathered on the kitchen counter (with a couple in the firm clutches of children)

baby is asleep upstairs, but will probably be moved when my nerves just can’t take it anymore (him being so far away, i mean)

the kids are in the living room, “hunkered down” with a movie and a bunch of candy

the wind is loud enough to hear

the news is getting TOTALLY on my nerves (enough already!)

we probably have just another hour or two before it gets dicey

We shall see what life has in store for us tonight, and what life will be like this time tomorrow.  Good night!

    I am so burned out with the news!! Can it just be over already so we can get on with it?!?

    I’ll probably be up when the storm comes ashore since I didn’t get up until 11. I’m a bit wired with everything thats going on. If you can, let me know how you and the family are tomorrow.

    Happy Birthday young lady! Sorry it was so tense. I did all the same stuff you did today-cleaned house and prepared the family. I am ready for some rest. Lets hope Ike behaves.
