Hula Hoopin' Momma!

I bought my husband a Wii Fit for Father’s Day last year, and though we found it wildly entertaining, after a few months the novelty of it faded.  It gets pulled out from time to time, but mostly by Toddler Eli, who uses it as something to drag around and stomp on.  That’s not quite the idea I had for its use when I bought it!

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a website called Wii Fit Mommies.  Inspired by one of the founder’s success in losing 60 pounds with the Wii Fit, the community offers support for moms trying to get fit and lose weight with the Wii Fit system.  It is a non-profit group, not affiliated at all with Nintendo.  It’s just a fun group of ladies, trying to reach a goal of fitness.

I’m starting to get more active in the forums there, and following all the ladies on Twitter.  Last night I was fortunate enough to win a fantastic new Flip Camera from the Wii Moms Twitter Party!  I’m so BEYOND EXCITED!  The hope is that in awarding me the camera, I will use it to document my progress (and struggles, I am sure) in using the Wii Fit to reach my goals.  Here’s a picture of the booty (*the* booty, not *my* booty…don’t worry, I won’t be posting any video of THAT!):

flip_video_ultra_black-226x300Many thanks go to Newbaby.com for sponsoring the giveaway!  I have registered at their site and plan to use it for uploading my videos, which I will link to from here.  Newbaby.com isn’t JUST for those with “new” babies, but is a fun and helpful resource for all moms to hear from other moms and experts about the many facets of raising children.

My idea is to start getting in a regular routine of using the Wii Fit, then post my weekly experiences in a Fitness Friday post, put up every…well…Friday.  I’m not sure yet how often I will video-blog (or vlog) versus plain text blogging, but now that I have the option, I am just so tickled!

Wii Fit Mommies sounds great. I got one for Christmas so maybe the website will be a nice additional help.
