Mommy Guilt/Mommy Angst

4pm on a day I’ve been lazy and have done little housework:

feeling guilty, restless, overwhelmed

4pm on a day I’ve done a ton of household chores and projects:

feeling bitter, restless, overwhelmed

I cannot seem to win.  Either I pile on the mommy guilt for not doing all the things I think I  should be doing, or I pour out the mommy angst for having to do so much.

I seriously need to find a happy medium.

Any suggestions?

Do what you can, but remember to enjoy your day…take some time for the kids, some time for the work, and some time for yourself.

    I do the same thing!

I sit around for an hour and then run around like a crazy person for 30 minutes. It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you make yourself crazy like this. Then I repeat. I get enough done to look like I really made an effort, but I get plenty of novel reading, internet surfing and Tivo watching to make me sane. And prepared for when the girls come home and make me insane.

Love your blog…I’ve written about parent guilt…here: http://www.parentcoachatlanta.com AND here: http://www.littlesliceoflife.com I have a third blog but it’s about dating and not much about guilt…you can let me know if you want to read it (it’s H.O.N.E.S.T.) so I blog under a pen name (do we need a new phrase for pen name as bloggers?).
