If You Like Sanity, This One's For You

Here is something I did that provided me 27 minutes of sanity during a recent 3 1/2 HOUR LONG meeting at the elementary school.  With my toddler.  (your sympathetic sighs are very welcome)  It might work for you, too, if you’re ever in a pinch and need a great episode of kid’s tv in jiffy.

  1. Download iTunes.  Even if you do not have an iPod (which I do not.  sympathetic bestowal of your used iPods are very welcome.), you will find that this program is super useful to have.
  2. Subscribe to the RSS feed for the iT’s Free Downloads website.  It’s a website dedicated to gathering and posting iTunes many free downloads they make available during the week.  You can also add a widget from the site onto your Facebook page, or iGoogle page (which I have done) if you don’t want to subscribe to the RSS.
  3. Watch for whatever free content suits your needs & download onto your computer or laptop (laptop, in my case.  jealous murmurs are not very welcome).

I now have an episode of Super Why! and Word World on my laptop.  This has proven VERY useful because my 19mo is not old enough to sit still for an entire movie on the laptop, and they don’t always have WiFi where we’re at for me to have him watch a show online.  It’s awesome to have these episodes on the laptop’s hard drive for whenever I need them – and I definitely needed them during that meeting the other day!

Just to let you know – an episode of Word World is now available for free download from iTunes.  If you launch iTunes and search in the store for Word World, Vol 1, you’ll see that episode #1 – Runaway 0 & Happy Dog – is free.  Enjoy!

It’s not big, I delete posts every now and then. But I invite you to come check out my site. I would love to have you over. :D

We love WordWorld. Especially like their new Mega Blocks sets. You can build Dog and Bear and Pig and Cow. Lots of fun.

Thats a good idea! My laptop is impossible these days, so my trick has been to download free Elmo videos on my cellphone. Unfortunately they’re only six minutes long, but at least they give me peace in six minute increments!

Thanks for the info. My kids love the sesame street clips. They have the Dora and Blue’s clues clips memorized.
