Review: Charm Story, from Things Remembered

I would not have considered myself a “mall rat” growing up, but my twin sister and I did like to periodically take Golden Gate Transit to the Northgate Mall as teenagers and mill around for a little while. We always made a point of stopping in the Things Remembered store, slowly perusing the collection of lovely, shiny objects. I can recall a gift or two from an enthusiastic boyfriend (or two!) that came personalized from Things Remembered.

With such fond memories of Things Remembered, I was truly pleased to have the opportunity recently to review a product from their new line of personalized jewelry, Charm Story. The Charm Story line features silver necklaces or link bracelets and a wide variety of different charms, all of which can be personalized.

You can choose charms to commemorate your recent vacation (seashell, airplane), milestone in life (graduation, 25th wedding anniversary), or your own unique interests and personality (peace sign, music note, four leaf clover). There are nearly 80 charms to choose from!

Right now, though, there should be one special PERSON you would like to commemorate with a gift from Charm Story: MOM! Things Remembered has some lovely charms and sets to help you celebrate the special Mom in your life this May. You can choose the “Welcome to Motherhood” gift set, or the “Mother’s Day” set, or assemble your own set with charms & birth stones for each of her children. And don’t forget – everything can be personalized!

For my part, I decided to go very simple with the product I received for review. Here is the starter charm bracelet with the starter heart charm, personalized by me with the phrase “Families Are Forever” (on the back is “Nerdin Family, est. 1993″):

It’s just so stunning! I love the toggle closure, the way the light bounces off the silver, and the lovely cursive font of my phrase. It’s hard to see in the photo, but the charm also comes with an attached crystal, which is a wonderful accent. I also appreciate how all the charms link to the bracelet with a traditional necklace closure/clasp (again, it was hard to capture in the photo), making removing and adjusting the charms so easy! I am tickled with this lovely piece of jewelry. I will say that the bracelet was a close fit on my wrist – it is 8 inches end-to-end when laid out straight – but it worked out fine for me. It also has a pleasing weight to it when worn, which makes me curious how it feels with more charms added.

The Charm Story line from Things Remembered is a great gift idea as Mother’s Day approaches – you can start out small like I did and let her add charms as she continues to celebrate her own story, or you can assemble a lovely collection of charms to wow her. Either way, check out Charm Story at the Things Remembered website, or use their “store locator” option to find a store near you!
