QVC & Me

I understand that everyone blogs – and everyone reads blogs – for different reasons.  That’s why I’ve been so aware of trying to accomodate my readers (that’s YOU!) with their reading preferences (ie:  all, personal, or product post subscriptions, as well as clearly labelling reviews as reviews).

But I would just like to make one little point.

For the most part, the products I choose to review are items I think will fit well into my family’s life and lifestyle.  Now, there are SOME times when I present a product as part of a review team I belong to (see “Affiliations” in the sidebar on the right), or because I think maybe my readers will appreciate it.  But I would say that roughly 93% of the time (number is not scientific) the products I review are things that get absorbed into our day-to-day lives, and become things I really am enthusiastic about sharing as a part of that life.

And in telling the story of how we’re using the products, my goal is to avoid “going all QVC” on you.  I’m not a shopping channel.  I have the opportunity to review products, and I really have fun with that, but I HOPE I’m still able to communicate things about my life at home through those reviews.

Basically, I’m asking you – if you never read the reviews, if you just assume they are all gar-baj – to reconsider.  Just try out a couple of the review posts and see if you can still hear my voice, or get insight into life here at our house.  If not, that’s fine.  But I really am trying to accomplish something here – to be ME, no matter what the title of the post it may be, or how it may be qualified.

Your reviews are so well written and I trust you so I appreciate them!

For me, it depends. If at first glance I know the product isn’t something I’d buy, I don’t read. (ie-heavily scented cleaning products, candles, baby stuff, etc) I take the same approach with reviews on my blog as you do though; most things that I review are just products that I’ve tried and loved.

So far, so good with me!! I like the reviews. Even if I know I don’t need a diaper bag right now, maybe I will need a gift in the future and it gives me good ideas. I totally *hear* you in your reviews. I know first hand that you are a no nonsense kinda gal, if you didn’t like something you would be honest about it. Good job!
