First Workout, First Impressions

My vlog after day one at the YMCA.  Huge props to Wendy, my personal fitness coach.  Love her!  Only 11 weeks, 6 days (and ~mumblemumble~ pounds) to go!

Yay for you! I feel your enthusiasm radiating from my monitor. :) The treadmill and bike aren’t my favorite machines, though I have to admit they’re the best for reading. Lucky you! (You don’t bounce around as much and your hands are free to turn pages.) But for now I’m glad to hear that your trainer stays with you. I always enjoy workouts when I have someone to talk with.

I’m still learning about nutrition myself, so I’ll be anxious to read whatever you post about that in the future. What I CAN vouch for is eating a healthy breakfast. Oatmeal, Go Lean Crunch, etc. My usual breakfast was a bowl of Cheerios or some other cereal, or maybe waffles. Switching really did help my energy hold out, and I stayed full up through lunch.

    Good luck!

Way to go Stacey! I am cheering for you! I can see how excited you are and I know you will succeed and meat your goals.

It helps that the whole family is involved in activities at the YMCA. The kids won’t want to miss their fun, so they will make sure you go. That is where I have a problem. Other activities crowed out my exercise.

    Keep up the good work!

My tricks? For food, a super fiber cereal in the morning. The more fiber the better because it will fill you up all morning. I love those Fiber One granola bars because they taste really good and have tons of fiber. I also do BabyBel cheese or string cheese, we need the protein and the calcium. If it’s something you can’t keep your hands off, no matter how much your family begs, do NOT make it. There are some things I have no self control over and it’s better not to have them in the house.
Workout tricks, music player with fast songs, that I like. I get cheap magazine subscriptions and read them on the treadmill, stairmill and elliptical. I read a good library book on the bike. The scarier the better. I would also Tivo shows I couldn’t watch unless I was exercising, this only works if you have a DVR and exercise equipment at home. DVDs from the library to exercise to. I can’t tell you enough how awesome Pilates is, your mom stuff can actually go back where it’s supposed to. You can do this and you can actually enjoy it. Oh and break a sweat! A manly sweat, none of that glistening stuff, it will make you feel good and you will know you are being effective. Hope this helps!
