This Week I’ve Earned My Reward in Heaven

TAGS: None

I recently wrote this post about how my husband travels frequently for work.  Well, these past few weeks have been *even more* hectic than usual with his schedule, and though I’m tempted to respond to my burn-out by opting for total hibernation, I’ve got these five kids to consider.  They are not so nearly burned-out as they are bored. out. of. their. mind.

I’ve manage to get off my duff enough this week to try and cater to their need for sunlight and socialization.  The evidence:

Tuesday:  took the girls to the mall, took the boys to Chuck E Cheese

Wednesday:  took the kids for treats at the Nestle Cookie store, then playing in the fountain at a local outdoor mall

Today:  throw a slumber party for my 11yo daughter

Tomorrow:  take the kids to the circus (STAY TUNED for details on this!  The folks at Mom Central are sending us, and I’m excited to tell you about it!)

And sometime in the next few days we’ve got to fit in seeing Harry Potter, because OH MY GOSH – it’s Harry Potter!

Reading this list now, it doesn’t seem like I’ve been doing all that much this week.  Then why does it feel like it?  Maybe because it’s summer, it’s so so so miserably hot outside, and I’ve been on my own more than not lately.  All I know is I’m pooped, and I think I’ve earned a few more stars in my crown for at least trying to keep my kids occupied!

Ha! Oh Lord Stacey we are in the same boat! I am not a very outdoorsy person to begin with and I tend to forget that the kids need to run freely and waste all this precious energy!
As a mom of three that also spends countless hours on my own, I admire your efforts and thank you so much for reminding me that I have to stop for them and for myself.
