With my recent conversion to self-hosting this blog, I’ve been searching out opportunities to evolve as a blogger and maybe – just maybe? – make some money in the process. There’s a lot to learn, and to be honest it’s a complicated issue for me (I’ll be posting more on that later this week), but I knew one of the first places I needed to research was IZEA. IZEA is (in their words): “A social media marketing company and world leader in sponsored conversations. We operate a network of over 250,000 bloggers and 25,000 advertisers around the globe.” The IZEA portal through which marketers and bloggers can meet and discuss opportunities is called Social Spark, which I recently joined.
The rest of this post is actually a message from IZEA Insider Drew Bennett, spirited ringleader of a group at IZEA called the “I’m Not a Famous Blogger” crew. When given the choice to join from a handful of “crews” at IZEA, this seemed like the no-brainer for me, since I couldn’t think of anything I’m more NOT than “famous.” I agreed to participate in a simultaneous blog post, where the majority of the very NOT “famous” team members shared the same information, aimed at spreading the word about IZEA, our crew, and the upcoming conference, IZEAFest, in Orlando, FL.
