And By “We,” You Mean “You,” Right?

My family has a serious problem with pronouns.

“Hunny, have we paid that bill yet?”

“Mom, did we remember to pick up my hair stuff at the store?”

“Wow, we really need to do the dishes!”

No one is fooling me!  Every time they address me like this, what they really mean to say is YOU.

Did YOU pay that bill yet?  Did YOU remember to go to the store?  YOU need to do the dishes!

It drives me bonkers, and I almost always call them out on it.  Don’t try to dress it up – you only include yourself in the question because you don’t want to be so blatantly obvious about your incredible reliance on me.

But they do rely on me – all of them.  It’s a big job, but I chose it, and that’s how it is.  So just say what you mean, dear family.  I’m a big girl, a mom of five, wife of one for sixteen long years now.  I think I can take it!

They rely on you because they probably know deep inside that you will be able to handle it and help them out :) And I’m sure you can too! It’s the mommy spirit that resides deep in every mom that gives the strength, courage, and patience to do things. it’s all rooted in the love and dedication that each mother has for her family. Hope you’re having an awesome week so far! =)
