Things I’ve Learned from Working Out

  1. hands sweat.  sometimes a lot.
  2. a good playlist can make all the difference.
  3. it’s kind of a pain to “rotate out” between sets with someone who has to completely re-calibrate the weight machine.
  4. never wonder to yourself how gross you look.  because then you will be tempted to catch your reflection.  and yes, you’ll look pretty gross.
  5. but…no one cares a whit about that.
  6. going once a week is better than not going at all. (thanks for that encouragement, Rachel!)
  7. going at least three times a week is even better.
  8. they say exercising gives you energy, but I think they’re talking long-term.  ’cause some days I’m plain TIRED from working out!
  9. ellipticals are not evil, they just need to be tamed.
  10. shoulder presses, on the other hand, are evil.
