Many of you know that my attendance at September’s Type A Mom Conference was partially sponsored by Sorel, the long-established, well-respected premium outdoor and cold weather boot manufacturer. It was so fun to talk to attendees at the conference about Sorel, since many of them were already familiar with the company and told me stories about the beloved pairs of Sorel boots they’ve owned over the years.
Purchasing Sorel footwear used to be a matter of finding one of their approved retailers in your area, but now there’s an even more convenient option; this week Sorel.com launched an online e-commerce website where you can shop for and purchase merchandise direct from the company!
The redesigned Sorel.com offers a wealth of information about their products and new designs for Fall 2009/Winter 2010, which include styles that move beyond cold weather and into more urban, everyday lifestyles.
For the Conference, Sorel sent me two pair of boots from this season’s new line: the green Tivoli, and the red Sorrelington.
I wore the Tivoli for an entire conference day, though the weather was dry and mild. I was amazed at how cozy and comfortable the boots were, and loved their fun, funky style. Since someone joked with me at one point about the fear of having sweaty feet when wearing the boots, I think I should mention that my feet were not, in fact, overheated. (might be too much info, but perhaps relevant!)
Though the Sorrelington boots fit my foot size, they were too tight around the calf to be comfortable, which meant that my 15yo daughter (who wears the same shoe size) was happy to score a new pair of boots for herself.
I was surprised to pick her up from school yesterday to find that she had worn the boots all day over a pair of skinny jeans, even though it didn’t rain a drop yesterday. When I asked her about it, she said she just wanted to wear them (they are really cute), and that she had gotten a ton of compliments on them. When I asked her about the comfort, she said the only thing was that they were a little cumbersome when climbing the many stairs at her school, but otherwise she loved the coziness of them.
Two attendees of the Type A Mom Conference – Carolyn of Carolyn in Carolina and Tamara of Mom RN – also won a pair of boots each from Sorel. Both of them announced the arrival of their boots via Twitter, and it was fun to read their excitement and pleasure with the Sorel boots.
With this re-launch of Sorel.com, the company is generously offering – for a limited time only – free standard shipping on your order! Just go to Sorel.com and at the bottom of the page, there is a space to sign up for their email list. Sign up, and you’ll be rewarded with the free shipping code. Enjoy!
