CLOSED: El Tacodor: The Family Dinnertime Game from Old El Paso {Review & Giveaway}

TAGS: None

We love dinnertime together.  We love tacos.  We love playing games as a family.  So when Old El Paso approached us through the review network MyBlogSpark to try the Taco Night dinnertime game “El Tacodor,” our family thought it sounded like a lot of fun.  It was!

We were sent two free product coupons for Old El Paso dinner kits, a $10 gift card to help us purchase meat and our favorite taco fixings, and the game sheets for El Tacodor.

The game is played by having each family member take turns completing a particular challenge in a given category, either alone, with a partner, or against an opponent.  There are five different categories, like “Meat-N-Greet,” “Say Cheese,” and “Lettuce Play.”  Challenges include things like “Name 5 foods that start with the letter ‘W,” “Close your eyes and name 10 things on the table,” and “Perform a dramatic opera about tacos for 45 seconds.”  The player to complete a challenge in each of the five categories is crowned El Tacodor.

Here’s our oldest daughter trying to complete the challenge to replay the major events of her day, but with a sports announcer’s voice:

Here are my husband and youngest daughter squaring off in the challenge to each say a word that has one more letter than the word their opponent said (you start with a 2-letter word, your opponent says a 3-letter word, you say a 4-letter word, etc…I think they got to 13 letters before my daughter was stumped!):

Because we’re such a large family, we didn’t get through the entire game in one sitting.  But that just means we get to continue next time we have Taco Night! (which is pretty much every week)

Old El Paso wants to give everyone the chance to play El Tacodor with their family on Taco Night, so they’re providing one prize pack for giveaway here at Tree, Root, and Twig!  To enter to win 2 free product coupons for Old El Paso dinner kits, a $10 gift card, and the game sheets for El Tacodor, please answer in a question to this post:  aside from the meat, what’s your “must have” taco fixing?

  • Tweet about this giveaway (put username or link in comment)
  • subscribe via RSS or email
