RANDOM.ORG CHOSE #56 – WINNER IS CYNTHIA C.  CONGRATULATIONS!

The Product:

mirra_logo

Mirra beauty care products, carried exclusively at Kroger.  From their website:

Kroger is proud to introduce mirra, our easy to use, exclusive health and beauty care brand for family-focused women seeking effortless beauty. Mirra combines quality, natural ingredients with the latest science to meet 3 different needs: Daily – routine personal care; Renew – a rejuvenating time out; and Inspire – quick transformations for a night out.

Mirra’s tagline is:  “Part Nature. Part Science.  Perfectly Beautiful;” Kroger hopes to offer women the chance to “enhance your natural beauty with products inspired by nature.”

I received several products courtesy of The Kroger Company through my association with Global Influence.  I had the opportunity to review:

  • Daily Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner – with aloe extract and wheat and soy proteins to moisturize and tame flyaways
  • Daily Sculpting Gel – with chitosan, aloe and red tea leaf extract for a strong yet flexible hold
  • Renew Exfoliating and Detoxifying Cleanser – with apricot and oxygenated derma-beads to refresh and rejuvinate skin
  • Renew Micro-Remodeling Cream (for day) – with aloe and green tea to shape and remodel skin at intracellular level
  • Renew Hydrating Night Treatment (for night) – with sunflower and jojoba oils to firm and smooth for wrinkle reduction

(not the package I received, though some of the items are pictured)

(not the package I received, though some of the items are pictured)

The Good:

  • The color, design, and packaging of all the products are lovely.  They appear much more upscale than something you’d expect to find in a grocery store.
  • The size of each product is generous, and right now you can save $5 when you buy any two Mirra products (click for coupon).
  • I like that so many of the ingredients are natural.
  • All the products I received smelled great, though were not overly-fragranced.
  • The Daily Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner has been great to use – smells great, leaves my hair clean and soft, I’ve had no build-up, and honestly, I use far less styling product now because I like how the shampoo and conditioner leave my hair looking and feeling.
  • I’ve enjoyed using the Daily Cleanser and have found that it doesn’t leave my face feeling stripped or over-exfoliated.  It’s a good blend of cream plus the apricot.
  • I’m not terribly concerned about wrinkles yet, but I have been using the Hydrating Night Treatment at night and like how it leaves my face still feeling fresh in the morning.

The Pause:

  • I’ve had a hard time deciding on exactly how much of the Daily Sculpting Gel to use.  Too little, and there’s no hold to the style.  Too much, and it just weighs my hair down.  Honestly, I’ve just stopped using it altogether, since I’ve been happy with how the shampoo and conditioner have been leaving my hair looking, even without product.
  • The Renew Micro-Remodeling Cream is just too heavy for me to use first thing in the morning.  I feel it sitting on my face like a mask, and then I don’t want to add my make-up on top of that.  I’ve stopped using this and have gone back to my usual (much lighter!) daytime facial moisturizer.

The Bottom Line:

I’ve enjoyed discovering this new line of beauty products, and I’d recommend anyone to try them.  Some of the products may suit you better than others (as was the case with me), but I’m guessing you’ll find something that really fits your needs.

The Giveaway:

The Kroger Company and Global Influence are letting me give away one package of Mirra beauty products similar to (although not exactly like) the one I received.  To enter, please answer in a comment to this postwhat is one part of your beauty routine that you absolutely swear byUS entries only, please.

I love my makeup in general. I have just recently been wearing it everyday and I am already to the point that I don’t want to go out without it on. I feel so much better about myself when my face looks nice!!

I don’t have a beauty routine anymore. Funny how motherhood does that to you. But I wouldn’t mind finding a hair product that will help my hair in this humidity so I don’t look like a frizzball.

I must, must, must have a good moisturizer. I have dry skin on my face, but I have to be careful not to over moisturize and get pimples. I have tried different things over the years, and I am still experimenting!

Washing off my make-up before I go to bed and using only a dab of night cream. The less the better–in fact I was told by an expert that you only need a drop the size of a dime for your whole face. So I do that nightly–the wash and moisturize.

What is one part of your beauty routine that you absolutely swear by:
Like many others have said it would have to be moisturizer…I also think flossing is mega important for maintaining a healthy smile which is beautiful.

i always have to use an exfoliating scrub the ones with the gritty feeling but they work so great at making your skin smooth a taking off dry skin cells :)
