Sonicare for Kids {Review}

Sonicare for Kids

I’ll get right to it:  my 9yo son Isaac LOVED reviewing the new Sonicare For Kids sonic toothbrush.

In Isaac’s words:

  • I like that I don’t have to scrub my teeth.  The toothbrush does all the up and down stuff for me.
  • I like that it tells me when to move on to the next area to brush.
  • I like the little musical thing it does at the end when I’m all done.
  • I like the grip on the back of the toothbrush; my hand doesn’t slip around when I hold it.
  • It’s easier to reach different parts of my mouth now.

In short, Isaac was really sold on all the features that make Sonicare fun and easy for kids to use.

  • the dynamic, gentle cleaning action of sonic technology
  • the timer that chimes at 30-second intervals to tell you to brush in the next quadrant of your mouthSonicare for Kids Product
  • the “victory tune” that plays at the end of the dentist-recommended 2-minute period for brushing your teeth

Isaac admitted that Sonicare For Kids was a little awkward to use at first – he said the vibrating was a little “annoying” (his word), but he quickly got used to it.  He was also not very concerned with the Sonicare For Kids feature where you can change the outer cover (or “skin”) of the toothbrush.

I know by talking with him and observing him that he’s definitely been more enthusiastic about brushing with the Sonicare, which lets me cross one of those “Make Sure My Kids Do…” items of my daily list.  (phew!)  And although I don’t want to get into any trouble for making claims, I need to honestly say that his teeth appear much whiter to me than two weeks ago.  We have not changed our toothpaste, Isaac has not changed his eating habits.  The only things that have changed relative to his teeth are the Sonicare and his interest in brushing more frequently.  So…make of that what you will.

My last question to Isaac about Sonicare For Kids was “Do you think you’ll ever want to go back to a regular toothbrush?”  His answer was a very emphaticNO!

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Sonicare and received a free Sonicare For Kids toothbrush to facilitate my review.”
