No More Losing Sleep (over Laundry, Anyway!) #MaytagMoms

At least twice a week I hear the question “How late are you staying up, Mom?” Translation: my kids have left a load (or two) of laundry for the end of the day, and of course they each absolutely.need something clean for the next day.

With our old washer and dryer, the answer to the question used to be “Pretty late, I guess,” especially because I had to wait and watch for the clothes to get thoroughly dry. Nothing like waking up to damp, smelly clothes because the dryer didn’t get them all dry! These days with our Maytag Bravos XL HE Top Load Washer and Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Steam Dryerdoing laundry last-minute or later at night is so much quicker, and much less stressful.

my new Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer

That’s because the Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer both use sensing technology to run on optimal performance.

You’ll notice on the controls of the Maytag Bravos Washer that there is no option for “load size.” My old unit had a “load size” knob for small-medium-large, and I’d have to sort of eyeball what I thought might be appropriate for the load I was putting in. I can’t even imagine over the past 19 years of raising my family how much water I might have wasted that way.

Maytag Bravos Washer Controls

The Maytag Bravos Washer uses a sensor to determine the size of the each load, then uses the correct water level for each load. This results in 76 percent less water and 78 percent less energy necessary to run this ENERGY STAR® qualified model. And, I’m confident it saves me time, as I don’t have to wait for any unnecessary steps or processes before my load is clean.

The controls of the Maytag Bravos Dryer do have an option for Timed Dry settings, just like my old unit did. But you know what? I’ve never even used it! Because every other dry cycle operates via the Bravos Moisture Sensing technology, which includes three sensors and moisture strips. Not once have I pulled a load out of my Bravos Dryer and found anything damp, or even burning to the touch, for that matter. Everything is dried just right. Again, this saves energy, but it also saves me time, and means that I don’t have to wait up until the wee hours of the night making sure the kids’ laundry is done.

And not to beat the drum too loudly (because I know I’ve mentioned this in other posts), but I know without a doubt that the large capacity of the Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer have totally saved me time. According to Energy Star, the average household washes 400 loads of laundry per year. I’d say our family was right on track for that with our old washer and dryer units! But with the 4.6 cu. ft. capacity of the Bravos Washer and the 7.3 cu. ft capacity of the Bravos Dryer, I’m able to put our family’s large loads in without a care, and I’m able to do more at once.

I count on my Maytag Bravos XL HE Top Load Washer and Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Steam Dryer to save me time, but they do so much more than that. They also save energy, money, and – considering how often my kids do their laundry at night – sleep!

Don’t you love those questions from children? There’s always a GOTCHA. I am very jealous of your w/d!! We have the basic models, and they are close to 20 years old, so I’m sure we’ll be in the market for new ones. I don’t usually go for bells and whistles, but this sounds pretty cool.
