See that pile of laundry in the picture above? That’s not just any ol’ pile of laundry – those are the blankets and sheets from my 5yo son’s bed. My 5yo son who is still not fully potty trained at night.
Maybe you know the routine – your child wakes you in the middle of the night, wet and complaining. Groggy, you quickly get him cleaned up, into some dry clothes, you strip the bed of the soiled items, then put any clean bedding on that you might have so your child (and YOU!) can get back to sleep.
If you’re anything like me, that pile of wet bedding might sit there through half of the next day before you remember to put it in the wash! Thankfully, the Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer have been helping me get those items cleaned and sanitized so we can start all over with a new chance at nighttime potty training.

For the wet sheets and blankets I strip from my son’s bed, I always use the Sheets cycle on my Maytag Bravos XL Washer. It’s a warm water wash with a medium spin speed and medium soil level. I also choose the option for an Extra Rinse to make good and sure the sheets are clean. The Sheets cycle is also specially designed to keep larger items from tangling and balling up, allowing the detergent and water to really penetrate every area.

My recipe for clean sheets with the Maytag Bravos XL Washer.
I also have the security of the PowerWash System, which includes PowerSpray Technology to ensure even detergent distribution and the PowerWash Cycle itself (seen on the dial in the picture above), for extra cleaning action on those nights when my son’s sheets are more particularly soiled or stained.
None of that will do much good, though, if my washer itself isn’t performing at it’s best. I recently noticed a little indicator light go off on my Maytag Bravos XL Washer. It shouldn’t have surprised me, given the awesome Airflow Indicator included on the Maytag Bravos XL Dryer. But here it was, a nice reminder for me to *clean* my washer!

Maytag recommends that users run a Washer Maintenance Procedure once per month or every 30 wash cycles. This helps break down the accumulation of soils and detergent in the washer. It is also recommended that the lint screen in the Maytag Bravos XL Dryer be cleaned after each use, and that the vents be cleaned every few months. With as busy as I am – and as many nights that I’m woken up by my 5yo son – I’m grateful for the built-in reminders that Maytag provides with the Bravos XL pair.
