Remember when I posted about Project 365, Part Deux? Well, tonight I sat studying the sad little book known as the owner’s manual of our digital camera. We bought this, our first new digital camera, several months ago and were so tickled with our purchase. Until we figured out that it really doesn’t do much and takes crummy pictures more often than not. (Should I dish? Yeah, I’ll dish. It’s a Nikon Coolpix. Yawwwwwn.)

Willing to consider that it’s user error – and NOT the camera – producing crummy pictures, I’m trying to figure out the inner workings of this buggar. So far I remain underwhelmed, but I’ll give it some time. Here’s all I could squeek out from trying to use the macro mode:

That, after about 15 frames.

I have a feeling that with this camera, Project 365 is going to feel a lot more like Project OhmygoodnesshowmuchlongerdoIhave?.

Once upon a time (okay, it was January 1st of this year) I set a goal to participate in Project 365. Well, I participated in it alright…I just didn’t complete it. I did manage three months of taking a picture a day, but after March my commitment (interest?) sort of fizzled out.

Just tonight I was poking around my Flickr account, and I realized how much I miss those daily photographic chronicles. So, here I go again – I’m going to begin again on September 1st and see how far I get.

For your viewing pleasure, here’s a recap of my first time around (click to view larger):

I read all my blogs through Google Reader, and usually only pop onto the actual blog when I’m going to comment (which I regret to say isn’t very often…I’m wanting to change that). It’s very much a dilemma for me, because (a) it saves me oodles of time to just read via a reader, yet (b) I know how much time *I* spend on my design here, and how much I want people to see what I’m doing. People don’t really see much via a reader, not design-wise.

Anyway, the whole point of this is to tell those of you who read me via a reader, I have added a new widget to my right sidebar. I’ve decided to participate in Project 365 on Flickr this year (it’s one of my 101 Goals in 1001 days…you thought I had totally ditched those, right? NO! I’m still working on it, just need to get an update post posted soon), and if you care to, you can view my daily photos on the widget. Or you can follow my photostream via Flickr – I am tree_root_and_twig on there. A lot of participants start all new blogs to post their progress, but I am barely dog-paddling through my two active blogs as it is.

Just so you know, if you are a feed reader reader of mine, I don’t hold it against you at all. I’m just grateful you take the time to come and visit!
