    • Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]>     So I already told you about our Christmas-themed Halloween decorations.  And how we were all “this is our chance to make humorous social commentary on how Christmas is thrust upon us too quickly these days.”  Blah, blah, blah – with funsize candy bars, of course.

    But then I went grocery shopping the other day, and guess what?  There was Christmas music playing!  And guess what?  I found myself humming along.  And guess what else?  They had all the traditional holiday dinner stuff set out on shelving in the center of the big aisle.  And against my better judgment I started craving cranberry sauce and turkey and pumpkin pie.  I guess you could say I started…well…getting in the holiday spirit.  I know!  I know!

    Last year, the week after Thanksgiving, we moved our family from Oregon to Texas.  With all the major changes, plus having a new 3 month old baby, and the fact that it’s often 80 degrees through December, we didn’t much get into the holiday spirit.  I barely decorated.  We got a tree at the very last minute.  It still turned out to be a nice holiday, but I missed all the hooplah that usually surrounds our celebration of the season.

    Well, not again!  This year I’m going to make up for last year and give in to Retail America’s calendar and start playing Christmas NOW.  And to that end, I am joining the fun at two major blogs I read – BooMama’s Christmas Tour of Homes, and 5 Minutes for Mom’s Christmas Giveaway.  Check out the buttons on my sidebars and play along, if you like.

    And I suppose now I’ve got to eat crow, but I think I’ll just eat some pie instead.
